About this piece:

On a crisp fall morning in Edgartown, I stopped for breakfast and took a walk along the harbor. The fog hanging over the water, with boats gently drifting through it, created a beautifully quiet scene. I only had my iPhone with me, so I grabbed a few quick shots. The next morning, I biked back with my Canon, hoping to recapture the moment. While the boats had shifted, the fog remained—soft and diffused, blurring lines and turning everything into gentle silhouettes. I’m so glad I made the return trip.

My work as an artist began with drawing, painting and a love of the ocean. I have always lived near the water, and it provides meaningful inspiration for me. When I moved toward photography, I began using the lens to create the same effects I was achieving with paintbrush and pencil. I create realistic and abstract water images that are captivating reflections of what we see when we gaze at the ocean.
